Our Seniors (60+) in the Village and Township of Lawrence or own property in Lawrence are serviced with many free activities during each year. Our citizens have elected to receive 0.50Mil in tax revenues so they can receive these services completely free.
Recently, Hamilton Township sent money to our senior services so their residents 60+ are also allowed to attend our lunches/activities/trips for free.
Twice monthly luncheons, at the Lawrence Township Hall (411 N Paw Paw Street) on the second and forth Mondays with social time at 11am, lunch at 11:30am followed usually by Bingo until 1:30pm.
Join Us Wednesdays for Games Day - 1-3pm bring a friend or meet some new ones. We have many card, dice, and board games to chose from....or bring your favorite game. Pictures of Game players on May 17th, (Canasta, Euchre and Canasta games all being played!!)
While community room is under construction:
Lunches will move to Fire Station Aug. 28 and September 11.
Lunches will move to Lawrence Conference Center Sept 25, Oct 9 and 23.
Yoga will be held at Lawrence Library
Game Day Wednesday 1-3pm will be held at the Lawrence Fire Station.
Trips will still leave from Lawrence Township

Stretch & Strengthen classes will include varity of therapeutic revitalizing movements and breathing techniques drawn from Yoga, QiGong, Tai Chi and other somatic practices. Classes are limited to 15 participants. Registration is appreciated (at Township Hall) but not required. Held in the Township Hall Community Room. Classes are geared toward class members abilities. Most done sitting in a chair or holding onto a chair.

Class is for those that can do Yoga.
Energizing: This class includes the benefits of the basic movements (above) and will be more challenging with complex and/or strenuous movements, possibly including weights, sometimes holding in positions to increase endurance and physical capacity, and sometimes done in a continuous flow. Some regular prior physical practice is highly recommended.
Bring a Mat if you have one otherwise, we will have some available.

Community Cardio Drumming
Cardio Drumming and other fitness classes are offered at the Old Town Hall (downtown Lawrence) 4 days/week and have several participants within our group who are in their 60s and 70s.
ALL of the fitness classes we hold at the Old Town Hall are FREE & open to the public. We have loaner equipment that can be used for the 1st three class sessions for FREE...after that, we ask that folks either purchase their own equipment OR pay a $5 equipment rental fee per class.

NO COST
For Medicaid recipients who need hands-on care and want to live independently. The Home Help program is designed to support individuals who wish to live independently in their home rather than live in an adult foster care home, home for the aged, or nursing facility.
Currently we are accepting new referrals.
