NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

LAWRENCE TOWNSHIP PLANNING COMMISSION

 

The Lawrence Township Planning Commission will hold a public hearing on Tuesday, May 24, 2022, at 5:00 p.m. at the Township Hall located at 411 N. Paw Paw Street, Lawrence, MI 49064.

The purpose of the hearing will be:

 

  1.  Planning Commission action on the request of Jonathan Mills for special use permit for recommendation of approval to the Township Board of Trustees to expand a sand extraction operation on the following parcels with parcel identification numbers for property tax purposes: 80-13-002-023-01 (addressed as 48868 49th St.), and 80-13-002-004-00, within Lawrence Township, in accordance with Article 7 of the Lawrence Township Zoning Ordinance. The applicant is also requesting approval of a site plan for the proposed expansion. The subject properties are located in the A-1 Agriculture Zoning District.

 

  1. To accept and consider public comments regarding a text amendment for short term rental.

 

Those unable to attend the public hearing are invited to submit written comments to the attention of the Chairperson of the Planning Commission by emailing the Township Clerk at the email address below or by mail: PO Box 445, Lawrence, MI 49064.

 

A copy of the agenda and meeting information may be found on the Township’s homepage at www.lawrence-township.org before the meeting. A copy of the development plans and this notice will be on file at the Township Hall.

We are looking for prizes for our Bingo! If you have any new (or like New) items you would like to donate please drop them off at the Township Hall (7am-3pm, Mon.-Thru.) or bring them to the Monday lunches. Thank you

ROAD COMMISSION TO BEGIN SUMMER HOURS
The County Road Commission Wants You to Know . . .
Beginning on Monday, May 2, 2022, the Van Buren County Road Commission will be working four 10-hour days. The Road Commission’s daily work schedule is 6:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday through Thursday. The Road Commission will be closed on Fridays tentatively through Saturday, October 1, 2022.
If there is a road-related emergency outside these hours of operation, such as a stop sign down or a tree across the road, residents should contact Van Buren County Central Dispatch at (269) 657-3101 or dial 911. Central Dispatch will contact the Road Commission's Emergency Duty Superintendent.
This is standard procedure for all after-hour emergencies.

These boxes help prevent unwanted consumption of legal drugs and provide a safe means of legal transportation. Please visit the Township Hall at 411 N. Paw Paw St. to request a free lock box.

A Represenative from SafeBuilt is in the Township Office Tuesday and Thursday mornings 7am - 11:30am.  to answer questions and assist people.
