Lawrence Township collects property taxes as required by law. Property tax billing, payment processing, and receipts are administered by the Treasurer’s Department. Property tax records and payment history are maintained in coordination with Van Buren County.

Lawrence Township offers a secure online payment option for property taxes through GovPayNow. Residents may use the link below or scan the QR code to submit payments online.
Payments are processed through a secure third-party payment provider. A processing fee applies.
Under certain conditions, summer property tax payments may be deferred without interest, as permitted by Michigan law.
Eligibility Requirements
To qualify, all of the following must apply:
• The parcel is the owner’s principal residence or qualifying agricultural real property
• The owner is 62 years of age or older, or disabled as defined by the Michigan Department of Treasury
• The owner meets the annual household income limit established by the State of Michigan
• Deferred taxes must be paid by the statutory deadline
If you believe you meet the eligibility requirements:
• A completed deferment request form must be received by the Lawrence Township Treasurer by the applicable annual deadline
• Late requests cannot be accepted
