The Lawrence Township Zoning Board of Appeals (ZBA) is a 5-member board responsible for hearing and deciding requests for relief from the Township’s zoning ordinance.
This board provides a fair and legal method for property owners or their representatives to request exceptions when strict enforcement of zoning regulations would cause practical difficulty or unnecessary hardship.
The ZBA has the authority to:
Hear appeals from zoning decisions made by the Zoning Administrator or Building Department
Grant dimensional variances (such as setback or height modifications)
Consider use variances, when applicable under local ordinance
Interpret zoning ordinance language when ambiguities arise
The ZBA meets on the 2nd and 4th Monday of each month at 6:00 PM, as needed, based on submitted applications.

All variance requests must be submitted in advance for consideration. Applications must include a completed form, site plan, and any supporting documentation.
